September 20, 2012. – Omega Energy, a company engaged in the exploration and production of hydrocarbons mainly in Colombia, announced the release of its first sustainability report, under the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), which promotes transparency on corporate sustainability policies.
“By producing this report, we are fulfilling our mission to become outstanding leaders in the oil & gas industry and to be champions of sustainable development policies,” said Sophia Santo Domingo, Omega’s Executive Vice President.
Santo Domingo also said that Omega Energy is a major driver in the development of the regions where the company operates, searching for solutions, giving greater prominence to the quality of life of its employees and working with the government for the growth and benefit of the communities where it operates.
Omega Energy’s report, which follows the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative, consolidates the results of the company’s social responsibility and encompasses the operations and activities carried out from January 1 to December 31, 2011. Global Reporting Initiative is an organization whose goal is to promote the development of sustainability reporting in all types of organizations.
